Welcome to the Mathematical Science Course !
If you plan to study mathematics, physics or computer-science, join us !
You will feel great when you have solved problems in mathematics or physics. It is one of the attractions of studying mathematics and physics. In the fields of mathematical science, it is also attractive and essential to discover things and think of new ideas. In our mathematical science course, we have the small-group teaching system. Here, you will repeatedly experience the excitement of understanding things and you will obtain abilities to make discoveries on your own initiative. Some classes are conducted in English for students to keep up with the global society, and we also have an outlook to train researchers in the mathematical-science fields.
Supposed fields and courses for graduates
While mathematical science, mathematics and physics are often seen as fields far from daily life, the way of thinking and reasoning there is useful for various areas, and we hope that graduates play an active part in broad areas of society.
For instance, the following careers are assumed:
- High school teachers (mathematics)
- Public institutions, universities and private research institutes
- Telecommunication industry and electrical and electronic industry
- Insurance companies, banks and securities companies
- National and civil servants including employees in government offices

On the entrance to the graduate school
In April 2016, the Graduate School of Engineering and Resource Science will be reorganized to the Graduate School of Engineering Science. The Department of Mathematical Science and Electrical-Electronic-Information Science (including the Mathematical Science Course) will be established for the master’s program, and the Department of Science and Engineering (including the Area of Mathematical Science and Electrical-Electronic-Information Science) will be established for the doctoral program. The degrees you can obtain there includes the Master of Science and the Doctor of Science (PhD). We strongly encourage working people to join us, and provide the special entrance examination for working people.
Application requirements for the graduate school are seen in the following link.

Graduate studies
The Graduate School of Science and Engineering recruits graduate students.(Master’s program, Doctoral Program)
The Mathematical Sciences course offers the opportunity to earn a M. Sc. or Ph.D. degree in mathematics or theoretical physics.
Students can also acquire the vocational license which makes graduates eligible to become full-time high school teachers (in mathematics).
